*Merry Christmas everyone!*

We had a Christmas party recently, with food from round the world and I've learnt to cook honey glazed carrots and parsnips - its really easy! and I also made gingerbread :) and icing and got everyone to decorate their own which was quite a laugh after dinner.

I've also discovered that Cambridge has closed down Borders in the Grafton in favour for Poundland. I felt a twinge of sadness about the loss of a good bookstore, but who am I kidding - I'd rather a cheap shop anyday! The amount of random stuff you can find in there is amazing. Our very own christmas tree, was in fact furnished by aforementioned shop - not too bad for 3 quid!

As usual, during the party, my housemate keen to share with us her Youtube findings, one of her better finds (compared to Boney M) were the old videos of the Jackson Five! New Party Fun Activity we discovered - pick a Jackson brother and copy dance moves. Cue laughter and hysterics! It was when we were trying to do the 'robot' when I remembered that Michael Jackson made a film called 'Moonwalker', a very long time ago, around the time when he released 'Bad'.I remember the film vividly, 1) because we used to watch it everyday, to a point the VHS tape probably got spoilt and 2) because it was a scary film and 3) my brother and I used to dance/sing along to it. Bits in the film which i liked were the parody of the video 'Bad' which has the cutest little kids in it! also the song 'leave me alone' which i've never heard elsewhere on his other albums (i remember being scared of the teeth especially). oh - and obviously the anti gravity lean, which apparently is patented!

I forsee a blast from the past this christmas - its time to torrent!

another good thing about our GP practice (apart from the pastry shop on the high street) is that they have a community mental health team in Ely, which we went to visit today. so not only did we get to take the train - we also got to see beuatiful Ely itself!

the best bit of Ely is definitely the cathedral and the famed Ship of the Fens is very much as impressive as people say, and I'd definitly recommend people visit it! Its got good food too, and we had a pub lunch nearby. Apparently in summer it gets really pretty with all the boats along the river, and they have their annual Eel festival (yes, that's what Ely is named after!). Anyone up for a cycle trip there next summer?
